The DFI was founded by Miami based fashion professor Prisca Milliance. After 6 years of teaching both traditional and tech based fashion courses at Miami Fashion Institute, Istituto Marangoni, and Johnson and Wales, in 2022 Prisca founded the DFI upon observing the enormous chasm between the technological demands of the global fashion industry and the traditional approach to fashion of the design schools. She is a fierce advocate for sustainability in the fashion industry and a natural born technocrat. She also holds a BA from Georgetown University, an MS from Drexel University, and a Graduate Certificate in Instructional Design from the University of Indiana.
