ArtShare is a marketplace for fractional ownership of physical art, and the first to connect museums with the everyday public. For customers this means trillions of dollars in art become an approachable asset class. For museums, this means unlocking the value of their collections and gaining financial security with no loss of control.
Our initial use case is to acquire art via crowdfunding and loan to museums for exhibition. While the work is on display, shares will trade in our marketplace with a portion of fee revenues going to the museum and living artist. Following the loan, shareholders will vote on next steps for the artwork.
A future use case is enabling museums to offer minority ownership of artwork already in their collection.
When successful, ArtShare will create:
The world's largest equity marketplace for fine art
A new generation of patrons engaged with art as shareholders and voters
More museum attendance and memberships
New unrestricted funding for museums and artists
New access for museums to receive previously unattainable art on loan
